SALARY: $14.42 - $15.38 hourly                     
PRIMARY FUNCTION:   
The Food Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the meal/snack programs at the Jerry Gamble Club, along with coordinating food inventory, ordering and delivery to our Southside Village Club. Duties include preparing daily snacks and meals, maintaining kitchen organization & cleanliness, menu planning, food ordering, inventory management and leading cooking classes throughout the year.
 
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
 
  • Maintain all food records necessary for CACFP participation including meal counts, production records, and saving / labeling CN labels for food.
  • Monitor food & milk inventory for both Minneapolis Club locations.
  • Coordinate with Minneapolis Clubs and order necessary food from supplier.
  • Create weekly / monthly menu for all Minneapolis Clubs that meets CACFP meal pattern guidelines.
  • Adhere to and promote state guidelines for proper food handling, food preparation and safe kitchen practices.
  • Prepare daily meals and snacks (1 each, per day).
  • Plan and implement nutrition classes and cooking classes with members throughout the year.
  • Clean and upkeep kitchen on a daily basis as required by CACFP and Health Department guidelines.
  • Assist Operations Manager in assuring that in compliance with State CACFP food program guidelines.
  • Additional kitchen-related duties may be assigned by Branch Director.
  • Maintain health department certification at all participating Minneapolis Clubs.
 
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Experience preparing food for large groups of people (70-150 / day). Must have experience working with youth and volunteers. Must be detail-oriented with experience in record keeping. Must be a self-starter, creative, possess maturity in judgment, be very organized, enthusiastic and goal oriented. Experience working with the Child and Adult Care Food Program is preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

These position offices at one of eight Branch sites.  Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 lbs, be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances.  Occasional repetitive task required.  This is a moderately stressful position that requires the candidate to be in excellent health.
 
 
HOURS:  40 hours / wk.  Full time w/ benefits.
