TITLE:                                       Development Intern

DEPARTMENT:                         Development

REPORTS TO:                          Senior Director of Public Affairs
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:        Volunteer/Intern (UNPAID) minimum 10 hours per week

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Resource Development: Provide support to government relations and development team, in achieving fundraising objectives; conduct grant research, prospecting, and reporting; update grant calendar and related administrative duties. Communicate funding related information to Operations team related to any new processes, reports, and tracking grant requirements.

KEY ROLES:

  • Assist in maintaining a wide variety of partnerships with funders, community organizations and local, state, and federal governments
  • Develop and maintain mutually supportive relationships with Operations team members
  • Maintain and record grant contracts, Letters of Agreement, Memoranda of Understanding for government and BGCA grants; Assist with grant proposals, prospecting and research as needed
  • In collaboration with the Operations team, develop and implement program requirements, data collection, outcomes, and program evaluation
  • Maintain positive flow of communication between department and Club staff
  • Work as part of the Development team to achieve organizational fundraising and performance goals
  • Complete other duties as assigned to assist and support the Development team
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Experience in providing administrative support to a multifaceted department and managing a database is preferred.  Must have excellent verbal, written, proofreading and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and work as part of a team. Be computer proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software helpful.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office setting with some occasional lifting required.  Also, must be able to sit for long periods of time.
