SALARY RANGE: Negotiable based on the experience

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The BGCTC is looking for an energetic, talented and passionate candidate to serve as the Director of Facilities. Under the supervision of the VP of Program Operations, the Director of the Facilities is responsible for the safety, maintenance, security, equipment, vehicles, appearance and physical building operational/capital planning of the five stand-alone Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities properties located in Minneapolis and St. Paul. By overseeing facility operations, directing routine maintenance, responding to emergencies, managing risk, managing contractors, overseeing security, and conducting regular site inspections, the Director of Facilities will assist our organization in creating a safe working space for all members and staff.


KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Repair, maintain, plan and implement necessary improvements to buildings, equipment and grounds.
  • Maintain a safety conscious attitude in performing duties and provide a safe environment for program participants.
  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans for each location.
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all buildings and grounds including lawn maintenance.
  • Purchase and secure supplies, equipment and additional maintenance services when needed.
  • Maintain inventories of supplies.
  • Foster positive working relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Oversee the operations of the HVAC systems and boilers.
  • Organize and maintain storage and workshop areas.
  • Submit weekly and monthly written reports.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the branches as necessary.
  • Provide facility maintenance after hours in the case of urgent situations.
  • Create an annual operating plan that summarizes budgeted expenditures required to maintain each location.
  • Maintain a rolling five-year capital expenditure plan for each location inclusive of pricing for replacement of major building systems and equipment.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
High School diploma required, BA preferred. Technical training and /or a Second Class C Boilers license. Must have experience in the repair and maintenance of boilers, buildings, HVAC systems, equipment and grounds. Should have experience in supervision of staff and working with contractors. Must possess maturity in judgment, be very organized, work as a team player and be able to take initiative. Must be able to perform the physical duties of this position. Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
 

Operation Hours:

This is an hourly non-exempt position with operation days on Monday through Friday. Weekends are only reserved for emergency cases.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 lbs, be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances. This is a moderately stressful and physically demanding position that requires the candidate to be in excellent physical health to meet the demands of outdoors activities.
