SALARY RANGE: $50,000 – $55,000 (DOQ)

The Boys & Girls of the Twin Cities (BGCTC) mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The BGCTC is committed to ongoing strategic initiatives to reduce systemic racism throughout the Twin Cities and have defined ways that the Club serves as an activator in addressing the extreme disparities for young people in the communities we serve. The Club is implementing a program model that directly impacts the educational achievement gap in partnership with teachers/schools and parents/guardians.

The Boys and Girls of the Twin Cities (BGCTC), an affiliate member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) has a mission to enable all youth people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The BGCTC is committed to fostering an “Optimum Club Experience” tailored toward quality programming that drives academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership & character for all Club members.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Annual Giving Manager is a key member of the development team. This person is responsible for planning and implementing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual donors to support the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs Twin Cities. This position will oversee direct mail and e-mail solicitation strategies and manage the Friends of the Club giving society. The Annual Giving Manager will focus on strategically expanding the organization's annual giving program with a goal of significantly increasing the base of annual gifts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Annual Fund
  • Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail campaigns, special events, proposals and select face-to-face solicitation.
  • Assure accurate and timely acknowledgement, reporting and stewardship.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individual donors, volunteers, alumni and community stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for annual donors giving non-designated gifts to the annual fund.
  • Further develop and implement Friends of the Club Giving society to establish a pipeline of annual giving donors and major gift donors.
  • Design and manage a comprehensive direct mail program and online giving strategies and analyze Direct Mail/e-mail solicitation program results data to refine and increase ROI.
  • Work with VP of Development and Communications to establish revenue goals for fiscal year and benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure results of all annual fund activities.
  • Work closely with communications team to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications.
  • Strategically manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects.
  • Work effectively with VP of Development and Communications to identify new donors and build strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to give at higher levels.
  • Work collaboratively with events staff to plan and execute annual donor cultivation event(s).
  • Manage Kids Can Give annual holiday gift drive in November & December
  • Create communications for email, website, and social media
  • Create online gift registry
  • Secure gift and cash donations from corporate partners and community supporters
  • Coordinate the gift “sorting day” for Club staff and manage gift deliveries by community partners
  • Recruit & coordinate volunteer involvement at all Clubs hosting holiday “stores” in December
  • Volunteers
  • Organize, coordinate and manage the recruitment of BGCTC volunteers.
  • Conduct all volunteer screenings and background checks
  • Manage First Advantage background check system for all volunteers/volunteer candidates
  • Send background check process information to potential volunteers
  • Enroll all eligible volunteers to the “criminal monitoring” roster and track/report any updates to eligibility
  • Communicate with First Advantage, BGCA staff, and BGCTC Director of HR regarding updates or changes to the First Advantage system or internal processes
  • Coordinate orientation and training programs for all volunteers.
  • Work with social, civic and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers (Hands On Twin Cities, corporate groups, recruitment fairs, U of M Engaged Learning Students, etc.).
  • Maintain updated records on all volunteers.
  • Recommend and develop ongoing volunteer utilization.
  • Develop and implement a volunteer recognition program (future strategy).
  • Design and implement a strategic program model to engage volunteers becoming supporters of the annual giving campaign.
  • Board of Directors/HR
  • Attend and take minutes at full Board of Directors meetings and Executive Board meetings.
  • Provide support as Board Liaison to the West Metro-North board team.
  • Manage the First Advantage background check system for all employees and potential job candidates.
  • Send background check process information to potential job candidates
  • Enroll all eligible job candidates to the “criminal monitoring” roster and track/report any updates to eligibility
  • Communicate with First Advantage, BGCA staff, and BGCTC Director of HR regarding updates or changes to the First Advantage system or internal processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) to five (5) years of fundraising experience and proven track record for securing gifts.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful annual fundraising strategies.
  • Ability to collect, organize and analyze data related to donor giving
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gift processing and acknowledgement practices.
  • Well versed in direct mail and e-mail solicitation best practices and implementation.
  • Proficient in Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor database.
  • Excellent organizational, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be strategic and forward thinking.
  • Goal-oriented with ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and passion for playing a role in fulfilling the organization's mission.
  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising techniques, and sources of funding.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to attend outside meetings. Some travel around the metro area required with use of personal vehicle.
  • Must be efficient in all Microsoft Office applications and experience with Raisers Edge a plus.
  • Knowledge of greater Twin Cities’ philanthropic community is helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office setting with some occasional lifting (10-30 lbs.). Also must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time on occasion. There may be occasional repetitive task required. Occasional travel required.
