TITLE: Branch Director of Minneapolis Public Schools Beacons Club

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Program Operations

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time (benefits earning)

SALARY RANGE: $55,000 – 65,000, DOE

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Boys and Girls of the Twin Cities (BGC-TC), an affiliate member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) has a mission to enable all youth people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” The BGC-TC is committed to fostering an “Optimum Club Experience” tailored toward quality programming that drives academic success, healthy lifestyles, and leadership & character for all Club members.

The BGC-TC is looking for a dynamic, talented, and passionate candidate to serve as Branch Director of the Minneapolis Public Schools Beacons Clubs. The Minneapolis Public School Club locations are part of the Minneapolis Beacons Network, a partnership between the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities, and Minneapolis Public Schools. The Branch Director will lead of team of program staff and partners to ensure that students achieve successfully their academic and career pathways objectives and goals.

The Branch Director is a member of the leadership team whose responsibility is to ensure that all Club programming and operations are strategically aligned to meet the overall organization goals and objectives. This position also supports the senior leadership team in further advancing Club strategic vision of helping each member to be on track to graduate high school with a solid plan for the future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leadership

  • Represent the BGC-TC organization to school and community partners as a member of the Minneapolis Public School Beacons Network.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Directors at each school location site to ensure that Club’s program implementation goals and objectives are aligned with the BGC-TC’s strategic vision.
  • Provide direction and coaching to all staff, volunteers & interns to ensure quality, fidelity, and effectiveness in program implementation.
  • Lead the coordination and facilitation of all engagement events with donors, community partners, board members, volunteers, and parents.
  • Lead the development and management of the partnership and community collaborations to support the goals and the mission of the organization and the Minneapolis School Beacons Network.
  • Help lead the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development plan process to build, develop and retain the pool of talent program staff.
  • Provide leadership oversight to ensure that Club’s operations are in legal compliance with national and state safety and quality standards and meet the funding priority.

Resource Management

  • Represent the BGC-TC leadership team in all important meetings inside the Beacons Network.
  • Manage program contracts and provide resources necessary to achieve program outcomes.
  • Lead the financial management and reporting for all Beacons Club sites.

Evaluation & Reporting

  • Ensure that evaluation planning and implementation is done with accuracy and on time to measure progress.
  • Ensure statistical information is tracked and collected to meet grant reporting.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in Youth Development, Education, Sociology, Social Justice, or related field. A Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of interconnectivity between education, youth development and social justice.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in operating a school-based site, supervising youth program staff, and managing community-based youth development organizations.
  • Strong partnership development and relationship management skills with schools, non-profit and profit organizations, and government agencies.
  • Experience working with diverse youth populations in school settings.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, e.g., in person and via video platforms.
  • Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc., and other applicable software.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license and be able to operate a company owned vehicle.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in teaching how to develop social media content and create graphic design.
  • Experience with audio/visual equipment which may include studio recording and/or video editing, photography, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 lbs., be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances. Occasional repetitive task required. This is a moderately stressful position that requires the candidate to be in good health.

HOURS:

  • During School Time: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Summer Season: Between 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Hours may vary based on organizational need.
