TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:              Full-time (exempt, with benefits)
SALARY RANGE:                           $41,000 - $46,000 (DOE) 
       

The Boys & Girls of the Twin Cities (BGCTC) mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." The BGCTC is committed to ongoing strategic initiatives to reduce systemic racism throughout the Twin Cities and have defined ways that the Club serves as an activator in addressing the extreme disparities for young people in the communities we serve. The Club is implementing a program model that directly impacts the educational achievement gap in partnership with teachers/schools and parents/guardians.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Program Director is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing Club programs, with a goal to drive measurable program outcomes.  In the absence of the Branch Director, the Program Director plays a key leadership role in supporting and supervising all program staff, ensuring the safety of all youth members, engaging families, and managing the site. The Program Director will provide support in bringing knowledge and identifying resources to continuously improve the quality of online programming and utilizing technology to expand existing program offerings to broader online audiences.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Support team to plan and implement all Club programs to drive optimal club experience, academic success, and post-secondary career readiness.
  • Work collaboratively with Branch Director to develop and implement Club’s goals and objectives to align with BGCTC’s & BGCA’s strategic plan.  
  • Support Branch director to implement consistent and high-quality professional development to all team members.
  • Support the creation and utilization of digital marketing collateral (flyers, informational videos, graphic images, etc.)
  • Lead the evaluation planning and implementation to ensure the accuracy and timely data collection and reporting.  
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen community collaborations and partnership to support the goals and the mission of the Club site.
  • Directly supervise volunteers & interns to ensure successful engagement.
  • Help coordinate and facilitate all site visits from donors, community partners, board members, volunteers, and parents.
  • Help to complete reports and maintain statistical information for all grant required programs.
  • Oversee all aspects of the branch operations in the absence of the Branch Director, including but not limited to:
                    - Staff supervision
                    - Facility management
                    - Program management
                    - Risk management
  • Work with Branch Director to maintain effective, positive daily communication with parents/guardians of members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in youth development, education, sociology, or related field and three   (3) or more years of experience in community-based youth development; OR an Associate of Arts degree and five (5) years or more of experience directing community-based youth  development programs or related programming.
  • Knowledge of development and administration of youth programs, staff supervision, event coordination and community partnership.
  • Strong partnership development and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate in writing and verbally, clearly, and effectively.
  • Candidate must be able to use Microsoft Office and have good skills in applicable software.
  • Knowledge to effectively leverage commonly used social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter).
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license and be able to operate a company owned vehicle.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in graphic design; preferable two or more years.
  • Experience with Audio/Visual (May Include: Studio recording and/or video editing, photography, etc.).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 50 lbs., be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances.  Occasional repetitive task required.  This is a moderately stressful position that requires the candidate to be in good health.
