TITLE: Youth Development Assistant    

DEPARTMENT/CLUB: Jerry Gamble Club                     

REPORTS TO: Branch Director                 

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

STATUS: Between 20 – 40 hours per week (depending on organizational need)

PAY RATE: Starting at $15.00 per hour

The Boys and Girls of the Twin Cities (BGCTC) mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." The BGCTC is committed to ongoing strategic initiatives to reduce systemic racism throughout the Twin Cities and have defined ways that the Club serves as an activator in addressing the extreme disparities for young people in the communities we serve. The Club is implementing a program model that directly impacts the educational achievement gap in partnership with teachers/schools and parents/guardians.

The BGCTC is looking for Club teens and alumni to apply for a Youth Development Assistant position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help organize and support activities and events in multiple areas of the Club.
  • Provide administrative support to the Club leadership team.
  • Assist staff in providing academic tutoring for other youth at the Club.
  • Work as a team member with the Teen Pathways team supporting Club-wide projects, events, and activities.
  • Support the Club staff in delivering program aligned with organizational objectives and goals.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be a current or former Club member.
  • Strong partnership development and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
  • Candidate must be able to use Microsoft Office and have excellent skills in applicable software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to climb stairs, lift at least 25 lbs., be able to stand and sit for long periods of time and be able to walk moderate distances. Occasional repetitive task required. This is a moderately stressful position that requires the candidate to be in good health.
